I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND
by BEATLES

English multi-instrumentalist quartet The Beatles hailed from Liverpool and consisted of members Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. The Beatles scored their third UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 with the self-penned I Want To Hold Your Hand, creating a chart record in the process as the first time an act had replaced themselves at the Number 1 spot, displacing She Loves You in early December 1963.

Released November 29, 1963, I Want To Hold Your Hand entered the chart at 10 and shot to the top a week later for a five-week stint across Christmas 1963, giving the band their first UK Official Singles Chart Christmas Number 1. I Want To Hold Your Hand would go on to become their first chart-topper in America, was their biggest-selling single worldwide, and the UK’s second biggest-selling single of the 1960s clocking up 1.82 million sales.
