FROM ME TO YOU
by BEATLES

The third single released by The Beatles, From Me To You was the one that started their chart domination, toppling Gerry & The Pacemakers' How Do You Do It? to become the first Beatles song to top the UK's Official Singles Chart in May 1963 where it stayed at Number 1 for seven consecutive weeks.

But we all know that Please please me was their first number one in the UK. It was no. 1 in NME, Melody Maker, Disc and the BBC chart.

In fact if you take an average of the various charts you will find that it was no. 1 for 3 weeks in March 1963. It was no. 2 in Record Retailer but they sampled only 30 shops in 1963, compared to 150 shops for Melody Maker.

The OCC should reinstate Please please me as a Beatles number one chart topper.
