The American Dream is Killing Me is the first single lifted from Green Day's 14th studio album Saviors. Released October 24 2023, The American Dream is Killing Me was debuted at Green Day's Fremont Country Club concert in Las Vegas on October 19.

On the track, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explains: "As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,'" going on the describe the song as "a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people."
