The LEGO Ninjago Movie is challenging for Number 1 on this week's DVD chart

The Official Video Chart is notorious for its interesting chart battles, and this week is no exception.

Harrison Ford-starring Blade Runner 2049 opened with huge sales of 190,000 last week, and is in pole position for this week's top spot also in today’s Official Video Chart Update, a midweek round-up of DVD and Blu-ray sales in the UK.

However, the sci-fi sequel is locked in a close race for the Number 1 position with The LEGO Ninjago Movie (2). Talk about a contrast! 7,000 units separate the two releases, with LEGO Ninjago hoping to replicate the chart-topping success of its predecessors, The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie.

Should Blade Runner hold firm at Number 1, it will be the first home entertainment product released in 2018 to spend more than one week on top of the Official Video Chart. Check back to OfficialCharts.com on Sunday at 7pm to see the final chart standings when all will be revealed.

New entries and high climbers

Elsewhere in the Top 5 this week, a further two new entries on the market could impact this week's Top 5. My Little Pony: The Movie is trotting its way to Number 4, while Kate Winslet and Idris Elba romance survival drama The Mountain Between Us could climb as high as Number 5.

Loving Vincent, the animated autobiographical drama about the life of Vincent Van Gogh is another potential new entry this week at Number 6, while Pokémon: I Choose You, which presents character Ash's origin story in an alternate timeline, is at Number 18.

Finally, Rafe Spall's hiking horror movie The Ritual is expected to impact this week's Top 40 at Number 25.
