The Last Dinner Party announced as BBC Sound of 2024 winners

The art-rock five piece also won this year's BRITs Rising Star Award.

The Last Dinner Party have been announced as the winners of the BBC Sound of 2024 annual poll.

The art-rock five-piece beat out competition from DJ Peggy Gou, amapiano rising star Tyla and Mercury Prize-nominated singer-songwriter Olivia Dean.

Set to release their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy, later this year, The Last Dinner Party were also named the victors of this year's BRITs Rising Star Award, a rare clean sweep of the two major polls that seek to predict the biggest emerging acts in music. The girlband FLO boasted a similar achievement last year.
