Details concerning the 2017 Mercury Prize have been revealed.

Once again taking place at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in London, 2017's instalment of the critically-acclaimed albums prize will take place on September 14, 2017. Last year's ceremony commenced on September 15, 2016 and was won by Skepta for his album Konnichiwa.

The ‘Albums of the Year’ event announcing the 12-strong shortlist for this year's recognition will be revealed on Thursday, July 27. BBC Four and BBC Radio 6Music will celebrate the festivities like in previous years, while BBC Two have also commissioned a special documentary celebrating this year's lucky dozen of artists whose work captured the attention of the judging committee.

Previous winners of the Mercury Prize include The xx, PJ Harvey, Dizzee Rascal, Elbow, M People and Arctic Monkeys. Look back at the complete alumni of winners in our gallery below.
