The Academic release new single Superlike

It's the first new track from the Choice Music Prize nominees since their Number 1 album Tales from the Backseat.

The Academic have released a brand new single.

Superlike is available now, the first taste of new music from the band since Craig, Matthew, Stephen and Dean's debut album Tales from the Backseat was released in January 2018.

The group also put out The Abbey Road Sessions EP last year, featuring stripped-back versions of songs from the first LP.

The indie quartet will premiere Superlike live on the road later this month when they headline one night of Live at the Marquee in Cork on June 27. The Academic will also play Iveagh Gardens in Dublin on July 19 and at the Heineken Big Top as part of Galway International Arts Festival on July 20.

The group have also announced a UK tour set for October 2019.

The Academic's debut album Tales from the Backseat entered the Official Irish Albums Chart at Number 1, becoming the first of only two albums by Irish acts to reach the top spot in 2018. The record was also nominated for the 2018 Choice Music Prize.
