It seems not even television is safe from the mighty Taylor Swift, as new research has revealed that her music videos are more popular than most newtwork TV shows in the US.

Research by sales/information tracking body Neilsen, commissioned by Vevo, shows that many artists like Taylor see similar (and often more) views across their video back catalogue in a single week than many big TV programmes.

For example, in the week Taylor dropped her star-packed Bad Blood clip, she racked up 18 million views across her video catalogue in America that week. Only one show in the country drew more viewers that week - NCIS: Los Angeles.

Similarly, in the week Drake unveiled his Hotline Bling visual, almost six million people watched his videos in America, beating many hit TV show ratings. Rihanna managed the same figure when she released her controversial Bitch Better Have My Money mini-movie last year, and research revealed that she was twice as likely to draw the 18-49 year-old demographic than CBS's Big Brother.

Of course, Vevo are keen to insist that they weren't trying to claim TV is a dying format with their report. Their VP of research Andrea Zapata explained that they wanted to show how "audiences are shifting," adding: "We are in a shifting landscape".
