Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge has no trouble walking the plank on this week's Official Video Chart Update.

In today's midweek indicator of the final Official Video Chart standings set for Sunday, the swashbuckling adventure starring Johnny Depp is (ship)wrecking the competition, and has sold 97,000 DVD and Blu-ray units in just three days.

Should Salazar's Revenge hit the Number 1 spot on Sunday, it will continue a perfect record of Number 1s for the Disney franchise. Curse of the Black Pearl shifted a million copies just a fortnight and spent the longest at Number 1 (six weeks), while Dead Man's Chest enjoyed the biggest success with 1.2million sales in its first seven days on sale.

New entries and high climbers

Blade Runner cracked the Top 10 again last week due to the long-awaited sequel's release, and now it's set for another rise, up two to Number 8 in today's sales flash. Outside of Pirates, Star Wars Rebels: Season 3 is the only potential new Top 10 entry at 10.

More new entries include: House of Cards: Complete Season 5 (15), Jai Courtney starring The Exception (26), and The Fifth Season of US Sherlock Holmes-based drama Elementary (33).

Finally, a box set of all five Pirates of the Caribbean movies is new at Number 34.
