A movie star has been born! Lady Gaga is nominated for two Oscars at this year's Academy Awards.

Real name Stefani Germanotta, the singer and actress has been nominated both for her acting as music following her role as Aly in A Star Is Born.

Gaga has been recognised in the Best Actress category alongside Glenn Close, Melissa McCarthy, Olivia Coleman and Yalitza Aparicio, while Shallow with Bradley Cooper is up for Best Original Song.

Shallow has some serious competition for Best Song, up against Kendrick Lamar & Sza's All The Stars from Black Panther, The Place Where Lost Things Go from Mary Poppins, When A Cowbody Trades His Spurs For Wings from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and the Diane Warren-penned I'll Flight from RGB.

A Star Is Born is also nominated for Best Picture, with Bradley Cooper up for Best Actor and Sam Elliott given a nod for Best Supporting Actor. Queen biopic and Golden Globe winner Bohemian Rhapsody is also in the running for Best Picture.

The Motion Picture Cast Recording from A Star Is Born spent two weeks at Number 1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart and spawned the chart-topping single Shallow.

This will teach Madonna fans to call time on another singer's career, lol. They're still bitter that Madge failed to get a best actress nomination for Evita. Go Gaga!
