Everything we know about Lady Gaga's new album LG7: Release date, lead single, tracklist and more

Lady Gaga is coming. If you were one of the hordes of pop fans that gathered around to watch the debut of the Gaga Chromatica Ball concert film last weekend, you'd have witnessed a surprise from Mother Monster herself.

Right at the end of the film, as Gaga exited the stage following pyrotechnic-heavy closer Hold My Hand, the music dropped out for a moment...and played something new.

'LG7,' the screen then displayed, flashing up with another image; 'LADY GAGA RETURNS.' 

So, this is it. The official confirmation that, yes, we'll soon see Lady Gaga return to pop music with her seventh studio album.

It's been four years since our journey to Chromatica, Gaga's ambitious return to dance-pop, which included her sixth and most recent UK Number 1 single, the disco-tastic Rain On Me with Ariana Grande.

Pop music is always a more interesting place when Gaga's around, so expectations are obviously running high. 

Here's everything we know about LG7 so far.

What's that song I heard at the end of Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball film?

Right now, your guess is as good as ours! But, as it stands, these are the facts; The Gaga Chromatica Ball Film played out with a teaser of a brand-new Lady Gaga song.

Starting with a stuttering synth-pop beat, Gaga growls 'dance in the shadow of the...' before the synths distort and cut out. Altogether, the snippet of actual music lasts less than 10 seconds, so not a lot to go off.

But this hasn't stopped the Little Monsters from putting their deerstalker hats on and going to investigate.

When is Lady Gaga releasing LG7?

Again, we wish we had more concrete information for you. But, as of right now, there has been no announcement on LG7's release date (or even what the album's proper title is). 

However! We can do some hypothesising on when we might be able to expect it; and all signs point to its arrival being quite soon.

As you probably already know, Lady Gaga has a film coming out later this year. She'll be starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à Deux as Harley Quinn, with the sequel (which all signs point to being a musical! God help us!) set to arrive in cinemas October 4 2024.

Given the rigmarole of a press tour, could LG7 arrive before the end of summer, so Gaga can promote the record and then head out on the road for Joker?

So, basically...sit tight.
