Fresh from her first ever stint as a judge on TV talent show The Voice UK, Kylie Minogue is set to release a second single from her new album Kiss Me Once, and not only is there a very famous face on production duties, there’s already a lyric video!

Seasoned pop ears may hear a touch of the Pharrell Williams magic on I Was Gonna Cancel, which follows Into The Blue, a Number 12 hit for Kylie last month.

In a recent interview with US music and lifestyle mag Rolling Stone, Kylie said she hoped for four singles from Kiss Me Once, with the title track and her duet with Enrique Iglesias, Beautiful, both marked as strong contenders. Kiss Me Once was involved in a chart battle with fellow '80s pop veteran George Michael, with the former Wham! star's Symphonica claiming victory.

If I Was Gonna Cancel makes the Top 40 – and the chances are pretty good, let’s be honest here – it will be Kylie’s FIFTIETH Top 40 hit in a career spanning 26 years. She’s scored 34 Top 10 hits, with seven of those making it all the way to Number 1.

Her very first chart-topper was her debut UK single I Should Be So Lucky, which spent five weeks at the top in early 1988. Kylie’s most recent Number 1 was 2003’s Slow. Will I Was Gonna Cancel give Kylie a chart-topper in the 2010s too?
