Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters ends A Good Day To Die Hard’s two week stand at the top of the Official Video Chart.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, writer / director Tommy Wirkola’s 21st Century reimagining of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy-tale, has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

Starring Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace and Clash Of The Titans) and Famke Janssen (X-Men and Golden Eye), the action-horror has ended A Good Day To Die Hard’s (Number 4) two week stand at the top of the chart. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has also topped the Official DVD and Official Blu-ray format charts, and the Official Film On Video genre chart, too.

Meanwhile, following the added interest of its sequel opening in cinemas up and down the country, Despicable Me has climbed five places to Number 2 on this week’s Official Video Chart. This Is 40, writer / director Judd Apatow’s follow-up to his 2007 romcom Knocked Up, is new in at Number 3 while US crime thriller Broken City (starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones) debuts at Number 5.

New Entries

In addition to Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (Number 1), This Is 40 (3) and Broken City (5), there are two other new entries on this week’s Official Video Chart.

British dramady Song For Marion (which also stars Gemma Arterton, along side Terence Stamp, Christopher Eccleston and Vanessa Redgrave) is new in at Number 8, while Movie 43 (whose cast reads like a who’s who of Hollywood) debuts a few places behind at Number 13.

Andre Rieu’s Sao Paulo concert DVD, Live In Brazil, remains the top selling music video, while season six of Futurama tops the Official TV On Video Chart.
