Fastest-selling DVD of 2017 so far Rogue One set for second week at Number 1

The force is still strong on today's Official Video Chart Update.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is Officially the fastest-selling DVD and Blu-ray release of 2017 so far, and the sci-fi epic is recording bumper sales once again in its second week on the market.

Last week, Rogue One scored an impressive 661,000 to best Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them's first week tally of 447,000 achieved just two weeks prior. Now, the Felicity Jones starring Star Wars spin-off title is set for a second week at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

In today's Video Chart Update, OfficialCharts.com can reveal that the Rogue One has shifted a further 66,000 units, placing it some 23,000 units ahead of its nearest rival, Sully: Miracle On The Hudson (2), the autobiographical drama featuring Tom Hanks. which was directed by Clint Eastwood.

French-Canadian animated flick Ballerina is another new entry at Number 3, while former Number 1s Moana (4) and Fantastic Beasts (5) complete the midweek Top 5. Will the Top 5 be in the same order come the final chart placings on Sunday?

New entries and high climbers

Italian psychological thriller Mine is on course to debut at Number 6, ahead of two Marvel releases boosted by a retail promotion; Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: Civil War are expected to re-enter the Top 40 and Numbers 11 and 12. 

British crime drama We Still Steal The Old Way is on track to snag the Number 15 slot, ahead of a rising Line of Duty: Complete Series 1-3, up 11 places to Number 19 at the halfway mark. 

Finally, a further three new releases are looking to impact the Top 40: Steven Seagal's Contract To Kill is new at 23, Series Seven of Vera lands at 32 and Armie Hammer's A Birth Of A Nation looks to sneak in at Number 38.
