250,000 of you have already snapped up Deadpool on DVD and Blu-ray, putting the latest Marvel movie firmly on track for a UK Number 1.

On today's Official Video Chart Update, we can reveal that the Ryan Reynolds film is outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined, despite the Number 2 release having sold close to 100,000 copies at the midweek stage. Filling that runners-up slot is Dad's Army starring Bill Nighy and Catherine Zeta Jones.

The X-Men spin-off is the first superhero movie of the year to be heading for the top spot, and will potentially finish the week as the third fastest-selling video of the year, behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Spectre.

Last week's Number 1 The Revenant is at 3, still selling strongly with over 50,000 units shifted. New at 4 is 13 Hours - The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, with Star Wars rounding out the Top 5.

New entries and high climbers

Kurt Russell western Bone Tomahawk is new at 7, Chris Pine's The Finest Hours looks to start at 11 and The X-Files - Event Series starts life at Number 12.

Point Break's 2015 remake is a new starter at 16, Cillian Murphy's Peaky Blinders - Series 3 begins at 24 and Leicester City's rise to the Premier League title LCFC - Champions - 2015/16 is brand new at 26.

Finally, two films make major leaps back up the Top 40: Legend ascends 26 places to 31 and Independence Day is up 16 spots to 33 in preparation for its sequel Independence Day: Resurgence's upcoming release.
