Daft Punk spend a third week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart as Get Lucky notches up nearly half a million sales.

Daft Punk are firing on all cylinders right now as Get Lucky breaks through the 100,000 sales barrier once again to retain the Official Singles Chart Number 1 title for a third week running.

The French robots, along with star collaborators Pharrell Williams and Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers, shot to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart two weeks ago with the lead single from forthcoming album Random Access Memories, and haven’t budged from the top since.

Disco-soaked anthem Get Lucky collects another 123,000 sales this week, a cool 50,000 copies clear of the competition, to put the track’s running tally now a whisker away from the half million sales mark (less than 8,000 copies) in a little over three weeks.

This week’s highest new entry is the Ministry Of Sound-signed New York-based DJ and producer Chris Malinchak. Championed as Pete Tong’s “Essential New Tune” - as well as a string of endorsements from the likes of Zane Lowe and Annie Mac - So Good To Me is this week’s Number 2.

Brighton singer/songwriter Passenger is on the up yet again, the ever-ascending Let Her Go (3) heads northbound for a sixth week on the trot. Previous chart toppers Rudimental slide one place to Number 4 while Macklemore and Ryan LewisCan't Hold Us FT Dalton completes this week’s Official Singles Chart Top 5 with Can’t Hold Us (5).

New entries, re-entries, high climbers

Dutch DJ and mastermind behind the A State of Trance compilations series, Armin Van Buuren, claims his highest charting UK single in over 13 years with This Is What It Feels Like FT Trevor Guthrie (6). His previous best was Communication which reached Number 18 in January, 2000.

Gabrielle Aplin is new in at Number 19 with Panic Cord, the third Top 20 single taken from her upcoming debut album, English Rain, which is released tomorrow, while John Legend’s Ordinary People re-enters at Number 36.

And finally, Mariah Carey bags her 39th Official UK Top 40 hit as new single #Beautiful (released on Tuesday), featuring Miguel, lands at Number 39. Black Eyed Peas’ Where Is The Love completes the line up of entries at Number 40.

US rockers Paramore are responsible for this week’s highest climber, Still Into You taken from the band’s latest self-titled album moves up six places to 26.
