Mission Impossible

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 scores a second week atop the Official Film Chart.

The seventh instalment in the Mission: Impossible series starring Tom Cruise finishes the week 15,000 sales ahead of its closest competition and on digital downloads only.

At Number 2, flying 13 places following its release on physical formats is the disaster film Meg 2: The Trench. This marks a brand-new high position for the flick – it previously peaked at Number 3 – which is the biggest physical release of the week.

Barbie (3) and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (4) hold on to their positions for a second week, while Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (5) drops three places, and Insidious: The Red Door lifts two to a new peak (6).

As Halloween fast approaches, the spellbinding 1998 comedy Practical Magic – starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman – floats into the Top 10 for the first time, up 14 places to Number 7 this week.

Rounding out the Top 10 is the terrifying sequel, The Nun II (10). Set in 1956 France, Taissa Farmiga reprises her starring role as Sister Irene, who once again comes up against demon nun Valak.
