Mostly old stuff made it in and the new tracks that made it in the 100 from 200 are mainly tracks that are not in main 100 just shows ya how bad Kantar is running the chart on their unfair 0.5 division maths and own version of ACR/SCR which give low tracks Top of the Pops for an unlimited time limit as well in Top 10 as well as unlimited re-entries stopping the new tracks from even rollin in.

And because my leveling up uses the real units to the Baby Shark everything by the same artist looks to be so split apart I don't feel the need for a 3 tracks limit because only 3 tend to go in anyway through the system very fun it was doing this.

Many different genres and different bands come in the results as well. I'm really happy with my system that was a year in the makings.

What makes it fun as well is that you have to gain the right amount in the gain as if you overshoot on next weeks gaining you might make it 17B leveling up at the risk of going out but hit it right you gain small to massive places up in the chart as well.

On next fortnights it's going to be rolling with both this weeks new and re-entries from all K-OCC devisons entries in the pool though it is at 18B on 25M maximum so it's going to be a hard breaking fortnight for the pool as to make less work for myself I'm combining the fortnights pools for the pool of the next one.

I do a TOTP division with old TOTP artists new music as well but change the airing one every week I tried to work on pools for both but it took too many hours as this chart is all manual labour. lol.

You want it done right gotta make it yourself and air it on Mixcloud, Soundcloud HeatThitAt my platform or if lucky a station.

The 40 I aired from the 100 tended to be a lot Rock based as thats more my thing but I mix up the genres because I like to air those still in the 100 I haven't aired before in 4 tracks a block and I love to hear the new music I haven't listened to before so I get to hear tracks I like from other genres not Rock as well it's a discovery show for me to do.

I started it a year ago on hearthisat as something silly with a stupid motive to be better than Chart of Gold at his own also very autistic chart game after booting me from taking part in his chart group and vote firing me with the P45 for moaning about how he does his Top 10s and his Festive 50s and kept evolving format ever since until I got onto this one and I'm loving this format so much I might keep it going until I get board with making my own chart shows and until Baby Shark is beaten as them I'll have to adapt the numbers especially if Baby Shark hits 19 Billion.

My motto if a track is in the separates it is supposed to be counted in the main chart love or hate the track but no they have track bans in the main K-OCC.

Chart Review 20/09/24

I swear everytime I talk about Fred Again.. my upload doesn't work-

OH. HI. YOU MISSED ME? good. Last week I wasn't allowed to tell you about how boring Central Cee is, how lukewarm Alex Warren is, how David Gilmour popping up in the Viral 50 Spotify chart is a sign that prog-rock is still lurching around like it's World War Z, and why Linkin Park have suddenly transformed into Riot-era Paramore, probably due to the presence of some dance producer who headlined Reading and Leeds or whatever. At least, I think I did. Two of my other rankings have been scuppered surely because of 'places to be' in the Top 40, so I will refrain from mentioning any of his other future hits by name until the end of time.

And no, that joke won't get annoying by the time he spends ages at No.1 in 2028.

But you don't care about that right? We're here for the CURRENT Top 40, not the one we'll be gawking over in a few years time. And for the first time in ages there's actually some fresh new blood to sample in this week's biggest and best. A whopping SEVEN (if this was 1999 this would be low) new entries have made their way past the notoriously fickle general public and into our lives, and it is my job to document all of their feelings on camera. Except this is in word format, so I can't show up the sign I'm holding saying "NOAH KAHAN IS FINALLY GONE". You did notice that, yeah?

No one is good enough to stop Sabrina Carpenter though (who is), as you can make that Week Number 4 for Taste at the summit of the UK chingaling, thus depriving us yet again the opportunity to praise Chappell Roan for the millionth time. At least she's responsible for one of the new hits, Red Wine Supernova crumbling to ACR and in it's place comes the equally popular Pink Pony Club at 21. It may be not as good as her other efforts, but I'd take this ballad over a dozen GagaMars collabs. No matter how much makeup they put on their faces in the video.

But moving on from the inevitable backlash I'll get for not conforming to society, two so-called 'heavyweights' made their grand returns last week, and they've predictably performed better than all the other new shizzle they fought against. And powering it's way to 12 is the comeback single of the most indecisive musician I know. I have mixed feelings about The Weeknd, you see. For every stone-cold classic in his repertoire like Starboy, Can't Feel My Face and Sacrifice, he sure does have a lot of guff. Popular. That Kanye West song he was on that one time. The omnipresent Blinding Lights. Die For You. One Of The Girls. The list goes on and on with Canada's only hope. What with Justin Bieber forgetting he has a musical career and Drake trying his damndest not to get cancelled, it's up to Abel Tesfaye and the awful TV series he stars in to try and win us over. Except this isn't some Idol-related baloney. This is a new material he's got under his sleeve. And I am whole-heartedly shocked to say that I can update that stone-cold classic category once again because Dancing In The Flames is actually really good. Yeah, I know. Shock horror. Maybe he can have some legitimate success without looking like the people listening to him just have his music on at work 24 hours a day in a desperate attempt to give him hits. You know, like the BTS people. It's just a shame he's fallen off a cliff on Spotify though.

Two places below him is another Maple Leaf-wielding chart star praying for relevancy, Calgary's own Tate McRae. This time last year we had to kickback and realise that greedy was gonna spend AGES in the Top 10. And you don't end up as one of 3 normal songs in a Christmas-themed chart without doing something right. So yeah, Tate's back, with her voice that Mimi Webb plagiarises for a living, and so are the wonky beats that make you think Nicki Minaj never left us. It's good, it's whatever, it deserves it's spot in the Top 20 for sure. I just get this horrendous feeling that she'll be rooted in the charts for ages and no amount of surprise reunions can unwedge. Given all the Oasis songs have tumbled into oblivion (aka the bottom half), that seems really likely.

Gracie Abrams is Top 20 now but I don't have anything constructive to say.

In at 24 is the latest remix from Charli XCX and her 'BRAT but I can't stop spending all my money on artists who look like Vogue models so it's not' phase of remixes that propelled her to No.1 last month with Guess, and this time it's former No.47 smash Talk Talk that invites Troye Sivan along for the ride to make a song that isn't as good as her other ones. To nobody's surprise then. Also Dua Lipa's here as well saying some French and Spanish words but I couldn't be bothered going back to check. And in other news, Teddy Swims clearly is the new Rag'n'Bone Man because he WON'T GO AWAY. You'd think having 2 songs in the best-sellers week in, week out would be bad enough right? Well no. 'Cos he's back lads. Run for your lives. Bad Dreams is gonna be all over Magic and Heart this Autumn and there's nothing you can do 'bout the matter. Thank the lord Spotify has deserted him so he's limped to 28.

Hitting the charts at 32 is one of The Weeknd's many collaborators. In fact, it's long overdue that Playboi Carti had some solo success given he's been on every rap feature under the sun as of late. Popular, EARFQUAKE, CARNIVAL, FE!N, you name it, he's probably there, Just a shame that ALL RED isn't worth the wait, and instead sounds like something a 33-year old from Croydon thinks is 'hip'. Doesn't he knows it's all about singer-songwriters with perms now? Oh, and rocketing up from 75 to 36 is Embrace It, the first appearance from Angola-born Ndotz, whose claim to fame is that he was in a video of a Top 10 hit from 5 years ago no one remembers. Do you? Because I know what it is, and it couldn't be more forgettable. Also, this song vaguely reminds me of Bad Boy Chiller Crew, HStikkyTokky, K.A.D and all the other 'lad' dance hits that's so objectifying and stereotypey that it's ridiculous.

Gun Lean by RUSS if anyone's interested.

Top of the albums is everyone's favourite band to hate back in the 2000s, the Scottish/Irish/Who Knows Anymore gents of Snow Patrol. For years, they were stuck hanging out with Belle & Sebastian and making the kind of indie that nowadays probably wouldn't sound out of place in today's market. And then they got famous, and everything just kinda stank since then. They haven't made a good song since 2009. Chasing Cars was, and still is, atrocious. Don't get me started on their latter material. It's been 13 years since they last had any Top 40 success. Therefore, I don't care that The Forest Is The Path is their first No.1 album since 2006. From what I've heard, the singles are dull, dreary, and way too soggy. So just like my pencil, there's no point discussing them any further. There just isn't.

Nines, Surf Curse, Odetari, nimino and Eminem also have hits on this chart but I don't have time to talk more thoroughly on them. But next week we get to see Blossoms, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Tom Walker and Jamie beat each other to dust on the albums, meanwhile we have new songs from Future, Ava Max, Bad Bunny, Potter Payper and Tom Grennan to ignore for the rest of our lives. See you next week when I struggle to deal with my college assignments.

AMAZING TIER:

Charli XCX [17], Chappell Roan [9], Oasis [27], Shaboozey [23], Linkin Park [8], Chase & Status ft. Stormzy [6]

GREAT TIER:

Chappell Roan [2], Oasis [40], *NSYNC [29], The Weeknd [12] (About time he made something good again.), Sabrina Carpenter [3]

GOOD TIER:

Adam Port/Stryv/Et Cetera [15], Sabrina Carpenter [1], Chappell Roan [21], Charli XCX ft. Billie Eilish [11], Billie Eilish [20], Tate McRae [14] (Eh. I've heard worse. For now.), Sabrina Carpenter [4]

OK TIER:

Sonny Fodera/Jazzy/D.O.D. [10], Oasis [35], Billie Eilish [34], Teddy Swims [16], Charli XCX (+ Troye and Dua I guess) [24], JADE [19] (The abundance of boring songs pushes this up for some reason. I don't know how.)

AVERAGE TIER:

Gracie Abrams [18], Gigi Perez [13], Coldplay [31] (Not all physical releases manipulate the charts y'know 😅), Ndotz [36], Coldplay [37], Myles Smith [30]

NOT GOOD TIER:

Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars [5], Teddy Swims [28] (I could do without him being famous, thanks), Playboi Carti [32], Dasha [38]

BAD TIER:

Benson Boone [22], Alex Warren [39], Hozier [33], BL3SS/CamrinWatsin/bbyclose [7]

AWFUL TIER:

Benson Boone [25], Teddy Swims [26]

NEW ONES:

The Weeknd - Dancing In The Flames [12] (The power of the 80s will never die. Just ask this man.)

Tate McRae - It's ok I'm ok [14] (Couldn't say it better myself, Tate.)

Charli XCX (+ Troye Sivan and Dua Lipa) - Talk Talk [24] (Do remixes count? This one does, and I forgot what this should've stayed as an album track.)

Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams [28] (In the middle compared to his other hits, and it better stay that way. No way in heck is this the worst thing he'll make.)

Playboi Carti - ALL RED [32] (It's loud. It's incomprehensible. But it isn't a good sign for his new album he's got apparently.)

Nines - Tony Soprano 3 [47] (The second of these went Top 10 last year, so you'd think he'd do a little better, come on.)

Surf Curse - Disco [59] Explain to me why Wolf Alice never got any love, but these lot can have a 2nd old song of their's chart. EXPLAIN. IT.)

Odetari - KEEP UP [72] (Lil Uzi Vert does it better, moving on.)

nimino - I Only Smoke When I Drink [87] (Stop reminding me of Lost Frequencies and let me live my life.)

Eminem ft. JID - Fuel [91] (A song from his deluxe edition of That Time I Shot Slim Shady Or Whatever. His duet with LL Cool J should've charted instead.)

(P.S. I have nothing to add here. Literally nothing.)

Congratulations to Chappell Roan on replacing herself at the top of my rankings yet again! 😊

‘Stick Season’ is finally out of the region for the first time in nearly a year… and thank goodness for that. The Oasis tracks seem like they’re done until the tour too and I’m not complaining that ‘Moi’ is falling off fast.

‘Like A Prayer’ looks to be back on ACR but the resurgence was fun while it lasted.

I feel the chapell hype Is being pushed to hard.. im sick of it

We kick off the Top 40 with the Oasis hype fading off fairly rapidly which I'm glad it's happening. Just gotta wait until the tour happens next year.

'Austin' continues to fall twice as fast with it being on ACR. About time it drops out the Top 40.

'Embrace It' is awful. TikTok dance trend is all over it and that's why it's here. Sounds like something that would've took off years ago.

Playboi Carti's new tune fell quite a bit from the update. Not a fan of it so not fussed if it keeps on falling.

NSYNC continue to fall as the hype for the new Deadpool film continues to fade away.

'Bad Dreams' has been slipping a lot throughout the week. Again, not fussed if it doesn't stick around as I also ain't a fan of this one.

'Talk Talk' ain't it for me neither. Slipped a bit from the update too so move along.

Was not expecting 'Pink Pony Club' to swoop its way in and replace 'Red Wine Supernova'. I mean, I'm not a big fan of Chappell Roan but there's some good songs on the album.

Jade back in the Top 20. Seems suspicious to me since it's on it's 9th week and slipped for the past 4 weeks so was it an attempt to keep it from going on ACR?

Tate McRae storming in with a new single. Not a fan of her at all. Only like two of her songs.

The Weeknd continues with the 80s style pop songs. I am warming up to it but needs more time to grow on me.

'Somedays' remains at #10 for a second week. Really hope it gets pushed up the Top 10 as this is such a banger.

'HOT TO GO' hit a new peak. Definitely Chappell's tour having it's impact in the chart.

Linkin Park slipping four places is no surprise to me. It's fairly stable overall but I don't see it remaining in the Top 10 long.

I hope 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' go back on ACR because I'm bored of them now. I wonder how long 'Taste' will remain at #1 but hopefully not for 9 weeks.

Angel of My Dreams got physicals this week which is why it rose, it’ll likely hit ACR next week regardless. Please Please Please also looks like it’s going but Espresso might actually avoid

avatar

Quinnifer

2

I didn't know she had physicals. Thanks for mentioning that.

Well even if one hits ACR, better than having them all plague the Top 5.

‘Talk Talk’ was one of my favourite tracks on ‘BRAT’ but the remix was kind of underwhelming, I’m sorry. :/

I think it would’ve worked better if Dua had a full feature rather than only the intro and outro. It’s a shame because ‘1999’ was an absolutely fantastic collab from Charli and Troye.

Oh well, I’m still intrigued to hear the re-issue of the album coming next month since I’ve liked all the other confirmed tracks to date.

about the upcoming brat remix album, i’m particularly looking forward to the shygirl & easyfun remix of 365. i know it’s on the album because she’s performed it live. it’s UNBELIEVABLE. spotify wrapped worthy song

Tate McRae’s new single is certainly an earworm. I love how confident and sassy she’s become since she broke onto the music scene, plus the music video might be one of my favourites of year to date. Her choreography is on another level! Would be cool to see it stick around. :)

‘Dancing In The Flames’ isn’t among The Weeknd’s best singles but it’s definitely a grower and I love the 80s-style production this song has to give it that nostalgic feel, especially the spacey synths. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the new era for him turns out!

‘Good Luck, Babe!’ wasn’t even close to ‘Taste’ in terms of sales figures for the week, but good to see it back in the runner-up position nonetheless. Really hope Chappell Roan will get a #1 hit someday!

I also like that ‘Hot To Go!’ returns to the Top 10 with a new peak and that ‘Pink Pony Club’ finally makes its breakthrough.

The latter isn’t among my favourite tracks from the album but it’s been her third highest charting song on Spotify for a while so it deserves to be here.
