One Direction announce new single!

The boy band, who are currently in rehearsals for their upcoming Where We Are world tour, have announced their new track.

One Direction have revealed that the follow up to Official Singles Chart Top 40 hit, Midnight Memories, will be You & I.

You & I will be the fourth single taken from the group’s third studio album, Midnight Memories, which hit the Number 1 spot in the Official Albums Chart when it was released back in December.

1D revealed the name of their next single in a video on their YouTube channel. “We’re very excited to announce that our new single is You & I.” Harry Styles revealed, “This one’s for you so we hope you like it”.

The track, which is set for release on May 25, was co-written by Julian Bunetta, Jamie Scott and John Ryan who also worked with One Direction on Number 2 hit, Story Of My Life.

You & I will also be available to download as a digital EP, which will include a reworking of the song by band member Liam Payne, entitled the Big Payno Remix.

One Direction have scored 12 UK Official Singles Chart Top 40s and three Number 1s; 2011’s What Makes You Beautiful, 2012’s Little Things, and 2013 Comic Relief Red Nose Day official single One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks).

Two of 1D’s three studio albums have hit the Official Albums Chart Number 1 spot; Take Me Home and Midnight Memories. Their debut, Up All Night, peaked at Number 2 when it was released in 2011.
