Sam is expected to release his new single on September 8, which will serve as the lead track from his forthcoming second album. The singer's debut album In The Lonely Hour was released in 2014 and was a huge success around the world, logging eight weeks at Number 1 in the UK and even reaching the summit in America. That year it was the only album to sell one million on both sides of the Atlantic.

In The Lonely Hour spawned a string of hit singles, including Official UK Number 1s Money On My Mind, Stay With Me and Lay Me Down. View his complete Official UK Chart history here.

Sam has been teasing details of his second album over the past few weeks, sharing pictures from a recording studio including a shot with Timbaland, who has worked with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Jay Z and Missy Elliott.

How much as his last album sold so far in the UK? Is it now over 2.3 million actual sales as yet?
