Kylie Minogue to receive BRITs Global Icon award and perform at 2024 ceremony
The Australian superstar will also perform alongside the likes of Dua Lipa and RAYE

Kylie Minogue will be honoured with the BRITs Global Icon Award at next month's ceremony.
The Australian superstar, who's also nominated in the International Artist of the Year category, will receive the trophy and perform alongside the likes of Dua Lipa and RAYE at this year's show on Saturday March 2.

Accepting the honour, Kylie told BRITs: "I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the Global Icon Award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists.
"The UK has always been a home from home so the BRITs have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can't wait to be back on the BRITs stage. See you at The O2!"

The news comes after an incredible year for Kylie. In June 2023, Padam Padam became her first UK Top 10 single in 12 years, peaking at Number 8.
At the time, Kylie told Official Charts: "This is truly amazing and 19 year old me would say the same thing! I am so thankful to everyone involved with Padam Padam and am astounded at how people have made it their own. The song belongs to everyone now and I’m loving every second of it."
The icon also earned a ninth Official Number 1 album in October 2023 with Tension, her 16th studio LP.
Last week, Kylie released her latest collaboration with fellow Aussie chart titan Sia. Could Dance Alone provide Kylie a 54th UK Top 40 single this week?

Yet more evidence these awards are totally made up. Kylie is hardly a global icon, the majority of north America still doesn't even know who she is, and her latest project barely dented the charts globally. Add to those facts shes playing a tiny 2000 seat venue in Vegas, full mainly of older gays from Europe, and you can see how over inflated the media machine is around her at the minute.
Madonna was obviously busy on a 'proper' sell out world tour, with her 64th top 10 hit riding high and a remix album thats spending its 52nd week in the album 100. Thats longer than all Kylies albums combined since 2005 have managed! I like Kylie but please, this award is deluded!
