BTS star Jung Kook makes Official Chart history today (October 6) as he becomes the first Korean solo artist to secure two Top 5 singles in the UK.

Jeon Jung-kook, main vocalist of BTS alongside bandmates Jin, SUGA, j-hope, RM, Jimin and V, achieves the feat as Jack Harlow collaboration 3D lands at Number 5 on the Official Singles Chart this week.

This follows the success of Jung Kook's debut solo single, with Latto team-up Seven entering the chart at Number 3 earlier this year; also making history at the time.

3D and Seven are both lifted from Jung Kook's first-ever solo album GOLDEN, announced for a November 3 release earlier this week.

The first Korean soloist to net two Top 5 songs on the Official Singles Chart, Jung Kook steams ahead of j-hope (born Jung Ho-seok) and Jimin's (Park Ji-min) solo successes.

j-hope's J. Cole team-up on the street became the first-ever solo BTS Top 40 in March 2023 (37), while Jimin's earned Top 40 tracks with Set Me Free - Pt 2 (30) and Like Crazy (8) this year.

Meanwhile, SUGA (born Min Yoon-gi) has seen most success on the Official Albums Chart so far. 2020's D-2 peaked inside the Top 10 under his Agust D moniker (7).

As a group, BTS boast four Top 10 singles to date: 2020's Dynamite (3) and Life Goes On (10), plus 2021's Butter (3) and Coldplay collaboration My Universe (3).

To date, the only other Korean soloist to have secured two Top 10 singles in the UK is PSY.

The Seoul-born star, real name Park Jae-sang, famously achieved the first-ever K-pop Number 1 single with Gangnam Style in 2012, with follow-up track Gentleman peaking at Number 10 the following year.
