CHRISTMAS ALPHABET
by DICKIE VALENTINE

British singer, actor and impressionist Dickie Valentine (aka Richard Bryce) scored his second UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 (following 1954’s The Finger Of Suspicion) with the first UK Official Singles Chart Christmas Number 1 to actually have Christmas in its title.

Christmas Alphabet was originally written by American songwriters Buddy Kaye and Jules Loman, and had originally been first recorded by American trio The McGuire Sisters. Christmas Alphabet spent three weeks atop the Christmas chart, in a chart-topping sandwich between two bouts of Bill Haley & The Comets’ Rock Around The Clock.
