If Elvis Presley's latest album hits #1 in the UK Official chart by this week's end, it shall increase the span between two #1 albums by the same artist in the almost 60 year history of the UK album chart to a truly stratospherical 59 years and 4 days, his first #1 album being his freshman effort entitled "Rock and Roll" in the UK, and which reached the #1 position on November 4, 1956, staying there for a single week. Candidates to best this particular achievement, other than Presley himself, either in the not so distant future or obviously later include not just two male solo and group artists, namely Frank Sinatra, who topped the 1st UK album chart in July of 1956 and Bill Haley who topped it with his Comets on 1st October of 1956, but the producers of "Carousel", "Oklahoma" and the "King and I", three soundtracks albums which topped the chart from August to October of 1956.
