Dreamworks' Trolls may be about to get singed on the Official Video Chart as Tom Hanks is heading to Number 1 in a blaze of glory.

Hanks' latest home entertainment release Inferno - the third incarnation of adaptations of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code series of novels - is heating up the top spot at today's Update stage. After three days on sale, the 2016 film also starring Felicity Jones is on course to claim the title of this week's best selling DVD and Blu-ray with 42,000 units sold.

Inferno will be the third Official Video Chart Number 1 of the franchise should it hold on to today's position by Sunday, although the lack of buzz surrounding the cinematic release means that sales are much lower than its predecessors. The Da Vinci Code sold 491,000 to debut at Number 1 in 2006 while Angels & Demons performed even better, shifting 512,000 to hit the top in 2009.
