Eight new entries are set to debut inside this Sunday's Official Video Chart Top 40, three of them looking to make up an entire new Top 3.

Leading today's Update after shifting 54,000 DVDs and Blu-rays in its first four days on sale is Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, the action epic starring Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders. The first Jack Reacher film also hit Number 1 back in 2013, selling 122,000 units in its first seven days on sale.

Number 2 in today's midweek pit-stop is A Street Cat Named Bob, the popular comedy drama starring Luke Treadaway. Another contender for Video Chart glory not to be discounted is I, Daniel Blake, the BAFTA winning drama that scooped Best British Film at last month's ceremony, in addition to the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival.

Today's Update Top 5 is concluded by Trolls, down two places to Number 4, and last week's Number 1 Inferno, which falls to Number 5. Will these movies manage to secure their midweek placings? Check back to OfficialCharts.com on Sunday.

New entries and high climbers

Two other new entries are locking-on a Top 10 placing this week. The boxset of Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is at 9, ahead of Ouija: Origin of Evil at 10. South Korean zombie apocalypse thriller Train to Busan should not be counted out of Top 10 contention also, new at 11 in today's sales flash.

Further down the tally, Series Six of Death in Paradise is at 14, while John Travolta's Life on the Line charts at 21. Finding Nemo re-enters the top flight at 31, as does Joe Wicks - The Body Coach: Lean in 15, up 13 to Number 35 today.
