Sir Tom Jones is returning to The Voice UK, as next year's coaching lineup has been announced.

The music icon returns after appearing on the first four series of the show and will be reunited with longtime coach will.i.am when it makes its debut on ITV next year.

They will be joined by newly-announced judges Jennifer Hudson and Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale. Jennifer rose to fame on American Idol in 2004, and has since performed at the Super Bowl and won an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls.

Meanwhile, Gavin's ex Gwen Stefani has appeared on The Voice US. His daughter, Daisy Lowe, is a contestant on this year's Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1.

"I'm looking forward to returning to my big red chair on The Voice UK," Sir Tom said. "I had some great times on the show and I can't wait to discover and help some brand new talent."

Jennifer Hudson added: "I couldn't be more excited to joined the amazing panel of coaches on The Voice UK! Discovering new artists has always been important to me and the UK has no shortage of talent."

Emma Willis has been confirmed to return as the sole host for the show's sixth series, though her co-presenter Marvin Humes will not be returning.

Emma previously said in a statement: “The Voice UK is very close to my heart and I’m absolutely delighted to be back on the show. Roll on the blind auditions!”

The 2016 series was won by former Liberty X vocalist Kevin Simm. His single All You Good Friends reached Number 24 on the Official Singles Chart in April. Other winners include Leanne Mitchell, Andrea Begley, Jermain Jackman and Stevie McCrorie.
