The Official Top 40 biggest albums of 2017 so far

This year's most sold and streamed albums so far, including Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Little Mix and Take That.

He’s broken chart records, ruled the Official Singles Chart and has created hits for a host of other stars – 2017 certainly seems to belong to Ed Sheeran so far. And the countdown of biggest albums of the year is no exception.

His third album ÷ is the runaway leader as we take our half-year snapshot of physical sales, downloads and streams of albums, boasting a tally of 2 million across all formats.

The main thrust of ÷’s success is physical sales: almost 1.22 million copies shifted, with a further 371,000 of you opting for downloads, and 415,000 streaming equivalent sales making up the rest.

Ed also manages to secure two more spaces in the Top 10 – his sophomore release x comes in at 4, while debut + is at 10.
