The Greatest Showman, Mary J. Blige and Hans Zimmer nominated for music Oscars at the 90th Academy Awards

See which movie music is gunning for glory.

The nominations have been revealed for the 90th Academy Awards.

The 2018 Oscars will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 4, with the Golden Globe-winning The Greatest Showman once again nominated in the Original Song category.

This Is Me, taken from the The Greatest Showman Motion Picture Cast Recording, as performed by Keala Settle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble, is favourite to win, due to four of the last five Golden Globe winners going on to also win the Academy Award.

The soundtrack to The Greatest Showman has captivated music lovers the world over, reaching Number 1 on albums charts in the United States and Australia. Here in the UK, the soundtrack has so far spent two weeks at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.

This Is Me, currently at Number 13 on the Official Singles Chart, has some stiff competition, as two of its fellow nominees, Miguel's Remember Me from Coco ft. Natalia Lafourcade, and Mighty River performed by Mary J. Blige, were also nominated for a Golden Globe.

Mystery of Love from Call Me By Your Name (performed by Sufjan Stevens) and Stand Up For Something, written by the legendary Diane Warren, and sung by Andra Day and Common, round out the category.

In the Original Score category, Alexandre Desplat's music from The Shape Of Water is nominated, having already won the Golden Globe earlier this month. Hans Zimmer is given a nod for his score from Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, and John Williams is included for his work on Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Scores from Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Phantom Thread, the latter of which was devised by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, conclude the nominees.

Overall, The Shape of Water leads the 90th Academy Awards nominations, with 13 nominations. The full list of 2018 Oscar nominees can be found here. Those in the running in the music categories can be seen below:
