The 1975 will be making an as-yet secret announcement next month.

Matty Healy and co. have been keeping super quiet of late, not releasing any new music since 2020's Notes On A Conditional Form, which became the band's fourth consecutive UK Number 1 album.

Now it appears that the boys are ready to make a re-emergence into their new era, which should herald the arrival of their forthcoming fifth album (which is rumoured to be dropping later this year).

Not only has The 1975's website been updated, directing fans to sign up to a mailing list to receive the latest news, but posters have also started popping up around London, announcing something coming next month, July 7 to be precise.

With each of their studio albums hitting Number 1 in the UK, The 1975 are members of a very exclusive club, including the likes of Noel Gallagher, Brandon Flowers and Ed Sheeran.

When their new album drops, if it too reaches Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, the lads would tie with none other than pop mega-star Ed Sheeran with each of their five LPs topping the charts over here.

The biggest hit from Notes On A Conditional From was the sparkly synth banger If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know), which contained un-credited vocals from FKA twigs and became the 1975's highest peak so far on the Official Singles Chart, reaching Number 14.
