Star Wars on course for second week at Number 1, outselling the Top 50 combined

The Force Awakens' reign doesn't look like it will let up soon.

Today's Official Video Chart Update reveals that the force of the latest Star Wars film is still very strong.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for a second week at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart, selling 136,000 copies at the midweek stage. This figures means that the seventh film in the franchise is outselling the rest of the Top 50 combined.

The JJ Abrams-directed sci-fi epic is the fastest selling DVD/Blu-ray release of 2016 so far after it shifted 1.189 million copies in its first seven days. The previous best was the latest James Bond movie Spectre, which managed to sell 987,000 copies during its first week.

New Entries and High Climbers

Three new entries are set for the Top 5. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's Sisters lands at 2 at the midweek stage, with Jennifer Lawrence's Joy at 3 and martial arts epic Ip Man 3 at 4. The Ip Man Trilogy also charts at 17 this week.

Game of Thrones - Complete Fifth Season completes the Top 5 following the debut of Episode One of the sixth season. Further down the Top 10, Christmas horror movie Krampus is new at 6, Keanu Reeves' Exposed starts at 8, and Homeland - The Complete Fifth Season debuts a 10. 

In preparation for Captain America: Civil War's release, Ant-Man vaults 36 places to 13 and Avengers: Age of Ultron rockets 93 places to Number 16. Captain America: Winter Soldier also rises massively, climbing from 191 to 25. Finally, Guardians of the Galaxy returns to the Top 200 in major fashion, dropping at 30.
