S Club have released brand-new single These Are The Days as a touching tribute to the late Paul Cattermole.

Jon Lee, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett's bandmate Paul tragically died in April following the announcement of the S Club's reunion tour; the band now honouring his name with their first new material in 20 years.

The track, written by long-time collaborator Cathy Dennis (Two in a Million, Reach and more) and Simon Ellis, also marks the S Club's first release as a five-piece, with Hannah Spearritt having departed the group in May of this year.

These Are The Days is released alongside an emotional music video, which sees the band reminisce on moments with Paul across their career, including tour performances and clips from their classic CBBC TV series and Seeing Double movie.

Speaking to The Sun, Jo explained that Paul will 'always [be] part of everything' S Club do as a group. She said: "He was so excited about this reunion and so I think we’re all trying to make this as special as we possibly can. We all reflect on him with a smile on our face. The smiles have replaced the tears, in a really positive way.

“We just remember him for the goofy Paul that he always was. We’re always referencing him and he’s always part of everything that we’re doing, especially with the single, the video and the tour.

“He will always be around in some way, shape or form."

On the single, Rachel said: "I think it’s got such a balance of everything that’s happened but also still positive and uplifting."

The release of These Are The Days comes ahead of S Club's 15-date The Good Times Tour, which kicks off at Manchester's AO Arena on October 12 2023.

Jo told The Sun: "We don’t want people to come to the tour and be sad. It’s more of how amazing he was and let’s celebrate."

S Club's These Are The Days is out now via Universal Music.
