Rogue One: A Star Wars Story looks set to dominate the Official Video Chart galaxy this week

In a galaxy not too far away, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is right on track to be named the UK's best-selling DVD and Blu-ray of the week this Sunday.

The Star Wars spin-off starring Felicity Jones is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope in the conventional movie timeline, and is centred on a group of rebels who want to steal the plans for the Death Star. Rather them than us!

The movie has so far shifted 438,000 units at today's midweek stage, and is a dead cert for Sunday's Number 1 considering it is currently outselling the rest of the Official Video Chart Update Top 100 combined.

The current fastest-selling home entertainment release of the year so far is Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which was picked up by 446,000 of you in its first seven days. Rogue One is a shoe-in to overtake that figure and become the new fastest-selling DVD of 2017.

New entries and high climbers

Monster High: Electrified is the next highest new entry, predicted to end the week at Number 13, while the release of Rogue One perks the popularity once more of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which climbs 14 places to Number 19 at today's halfway point.

Back-to-back new entries are currently at Numbers 23 and 24 - disaster 500MPH Storm finally gains a DVD release four years after its release and sits at 23, while Daniel Radcliffe's Swiss Army Man is at 24.

The Young Messiah lands at 33, while Naomi Watts thriller Shut In has potential to debut at Number 37. Finally, Russell Tovey's The Pass may just scrape into the Top 40, and is currently romancing the Number 39 spot.
