It seems Rihanna has grand (and exciting) career ambitions for 2021.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, the singer, fashion designer and makeup mogul said she was excited about the year ahead, offering up a strong hint that she will release new music.

Asked about her plans for 2021, Rihanna said she wants "to take my music and my brands to a different level."

It's approaching five years since Rihanna's last studio album, 2016's Anti, though she has made guest appearances on Top 40 hits Believe It by Partynextdoor, and N.E.R.D's Lemon. View Rihanna's Official Chart history in full here.

Earlier this year, Rihanna assured fans her music is "going to be worth the wait", adding that she is always recording and "when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it's gonna come out.

"And you're not going to be disappointed when it happens."

Elsewhere in the new interview, Rihanna said she was spending this Christmas in her native Barbados. "It's important to be with friends and family – but I feel at such peace when I am there," she revealed. "It is the most beautiful place, with incredible, beaches, food and people.

"It's kind of a cliche, but there is just something I love about decorating the tree. It's just one of those traditions where you can declare Christmas has started as soon as the tree goes up."

We'll see if she can still hack it in the charts after 5 tiresome years of waiting..I bet Adele will still hack more than her chartwise next year.
