Rhys has unveiled the music video for her hopeful new single Last Dance: Premiere

It's happy. It's sad. It's co-produced by a major Swedish pop producer.

On the scale of uplifting lyrics, "I'll stay away from daylight and hardly eat at all" ranks somewhere near the bottom. Nonetheless, it's a line in Rhys' otherwise hopeful and rather good new single Last Dance.

The track was released by the rising 19-year-old Swedish/American singer last month and is basically about being in love with someone but accepting that, for one reason or another, its just not going to happen, and that's okay. "If all we had was an illusion, as least we gave it every goddamn chance," she sings on the chorus.

Last Dance is Rhys' second single since she signed to Warner Music, following Swallow Your Pride. The track was co-produced by Jörgen Elofsson, who is part of the now-legendary Cheiron Studios team, headed up by Max Martin. Jörgen's own credits include Britney's (You Drive Me Crazy) and Sometimes, as well as Steps, Kelly Clarkson and Robyn.

Last Dance now has a music video, which Official Charts has premiered below. Like the song, it's a happy-sad affair combining dark and light colours with sadface and dancing. Watch below:

Rhys' Last Dance is available to download and stream now.
