Peter Rabbit is no doubt keeping the children entertained during their summer holiday break.

The animated movie featuring the voices of James Corden, Daisy Ridley, Rose Byrne and Sam Neill, is Number 1 on today's Official Video Chart Update, a midweek glance of DVD and Blu-ray sales in the UK.

Shifting 145,000 units in its first three days on sale, the movie is outselling the Top 40 combined.

Former chart-topper The Greatest Showman (the UK's best-selling digital movie ever) holds firm at Number 2, while it looks like Tomb Raider will take a tumble to Number 3.

New entries and high climbers

A Marvel retail campaign sees many superhero films rocket up the chart, most notably Thor: Ragnarok, which leaps into the Top 5 at Number 4. Ant-Man records the biggest climb so far this week, ascending 178 positions to Number 17. Doctor Strange (20) and Guardians of the Galaxy - Vol 2 (22) are also set to return to the Top 40.

Another animal entry that's a shoe-in for this week's Top 10 is animated comedy Duck Duck Goose at Number 7, while Deep Blue Sea 2 (13), Mary Magdalene (15), and Season 11 of The X-Files (16) are also aiming for Top 20 debuts.

Finally, Nicholas Cage action flick 211 makes a dent at Number 23, plus Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger's romance Midnight Sun is loved up at Number 28.
