After years of earnest, po-faced pop, it feels like tide is turning back towards the neon-bright pure pop that last dominated a decade ago, doesn’t it? Katy Perry, Ava Max, Zara Larsson are some of those leading the charge, bolstered by up-and-comers Kim Petras and Alice Chater.

Another new artist with their eye on pure pop’s premier league is Paige Cavell. She's the latest signing by Brian Higgins’ Xenomania – a production team and now fully independent label whose credits include some of very best in the genre: Little Mix, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys and most of Girls Aloud’s catalogue.

Paige released her debut EP at the end of July, lead by the title track Figure It Out, a sleek but undeniably fun song that is a very promising sign of things to come. As well as the songs, getting into pop's big leagues requires a distinctive vocal and an enormous amount of upbeat energy which, as you can see in the Figure It Out music video - premiered below - Paige has got in spades.

If you enjoyed this, her track Predators & Monsters is worth a listen - the song also has the distinction of being Xenomania's first on which they've credited themselves as an artist.
