Olly Murs has claimed the top spot on this week's Official Trending Chart.

The singer's latest effort You Don't Know Love leads the Top 20 list of songs making waves in the UK this week. The track has been hovering around the Official Singles Chart for the last eight weeks but looks set for a big climb this week following his performance on Strictly Come Dancing, which has helped send it into the Top 10 on the latest Official Chart Update.

Another big entry on this week's trending chart is Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's Side To Side. The pair recently performed the track at the MTV VMAs, and is set to make its debut on the Official Singles Top 40 this Friday following the unveiling of its steamy music video, currently up a massive 48 places from last week.

Two dance songs make strong entries on the Official Trending Chart this week: Offaiah's Trouble, which looks set to enter this week's Top 40, as is Matoma and Becky Hill's False Alarm.

Finally, two brand new tracks released last Friday (September 2) land inside the trending Top 20. The first is Zara Larsson's Ain't My Fault, her first single as a headliner since her Top 3 smash Lush Life, and a new version of Black Eyed Peas' #WheresTheLove?, which features a star-studded lineup including Mary J Blige, Nicole Scherzinger and Jamie Foxx. Both are on course to enter the Official Singles Chart Top 40 this Friday (September 9).

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has already highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Drake's One Dance.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
