Minions: The Rise of Gru climbs to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart.

Following its release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD, Minions: The Rise of Gru – the sequel to Minions, which is itself a spin-off prequel to the Despicable Me series – defeats last week’s chart-topper Bullet Train to claim the UK’s Number 1 film this week, climbing two spots and pushing Bullet Train down to Number 2.

Meanwhile, Jurassic World: Dominion is also pushed back one place to land at Number 3, while drama-thriller Where The Crawdads Sing, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, holds tight at Number 4, and biopic Elvis also holds on to its placing from last week at Number 5.

Top Gun: Maverick rebounds to Number 6, while recent Marvel chart-topper Thor: Love and Thunder drops one to Number 7.

Sing 2 enjoys another sparkling week in the Top 10 at Number 8, just ahead of Downton Abbey: A New Era at Number 9. DC’s animated adventure DC League of Super-Pets, starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart rounds off the countdown at Number 10.

Further down, this week’s highest new entry is 2014 Sci-Fi thriller Ex-Machina (17). The Oscar-winning film, which stars Alicia Vikander, takes its place in the chart for the first time following its long-awaited 4K UHD release in the UK last week.
