The Little Mermaid soaks in a second week at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart

Still shot of Halle Bailey as The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid enjoys a second week at the top of the Official Film Chart.

Storming ahead on digital downloads only, Halle Bailey’s starring role in the live-action Disney adaptation extends its lead atop the UK charts with over 42,000 sales over the last seven days.

Meanwhile, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves leaps seven places to its previous peak of Number 2, following its release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.

Former Number 1 The Super Mario Bros. Movie holds on to a place in the Top 5 (3) as does Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (4). The Meg (5) dives back into the Top 10 for the first time since January 2019 following the release of its sequel, Meg 2: The Trench, in cinemas.

Our highest brand new entry this week is Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, Dreamworks’ latest animated adventure which debuts at Number 6. Shy 15-year-old Ruby discovers that she’s next in line in a fabled royal family of sea krakens, and finds that the destiny is bigger than she could have ever imagined.

Dropping three places to Number 7 is The Flash, John Wick: Chapter 4 is also down three at Number 8, and Top Gun: Maverick dips two to Number 9.

Finally, A Man Called Otto rebounds nine places to Number 10, the former chart-topper’s first stint in the Top 10 since May.
