Justin Bieber continues to reign supreme on the US singles chart and achieves a rare feat on this week's Billboard Hot 100.

The singer replaces himself at Number 1 with Love Yourself, pushing previous leader Sorry down to 2 and giving Bieber his third consecutive chart-topper in the country.

Bieber is only the 12th act in the Billboard's 57-year history to replace himself at Number 1. The Weeknd managed it in October last year with The Hills and Can't Feel My Face, and Taylor Swift did it before that in 2014 when Blank Space knocked Shake It Off from pole position.

Other acts to achieve the feat include Boyz II Men in 1994, Ja Rule and Nelly in 2002, Usher in 2004 and The Beatles in 1968, who in fact racked up three Number 1s in a row with I Want To Hold Your Hand, She Loves You and Can't Buy Me Love in 1964.

Meanwhile, Flo Rida collects his 11th US Top 10 with My House, which leaps from 12 to 5, Selena Gomez earns her fifth as a lead artist with Hands To Myself (up from 21 to 7), and Rihanna's Work debuts at Number 9 following its surprise release last week.

Outside the Top 10, G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha's Me, Myself & I jumps four places to Number 12, and US pop-rock band DNCE enter the Top 20 at 18 with Cake By The Ocean.

Over on Billboard's 200 albums chart, Adele's 25 reclaims the top spot after a two-week break for an eighth spell at Number 1.

Justin Bieber's Purpose climbs from 3 to 2, and this week's highest new entry goes to metal band Megadeath, who debut at 3 with Dystopia.

Big new entries further down the tally are the 2016 Grammy nominees album at Number 9, and R&B singer/producer Tank debuts at 15 with his eighth album Sex, Love & Pain II.
