Justin Bieber is fighting to reclaim the top spot on this week’s Official Singles Chart.

The star’s latest track What Do You Mean is back at Number 1 on today’s Official Chart Update after being dethroned by Sigala’s Easy Love last week, but leads by just over 300 combined sales at the halfway stage.

Justin’s return to the top of the Official Chart a fortnight ago was a triumphant one; What Do You Mean set a new record for the highest first-week streams for a single at 3.2 million plays, and also became his fastest selling single in the UK with a combined opening week sales total of 84,000. While Easy Love slips to second place, the rest of the Top 5 remains largely unmoved. Calvin Harris & Disciples look set to score a seventh week in the Top 5 with How Deep Is Your Love, currently at Number 3, Jess Glynne’s Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself is at 4, and The Weeknd holds firm at 5 with Can’t Feel My Face.

New entries and high climbers

Just outside the Top 10, Birdy’s Wings continues to surge up the tally, leaping 18 spots to Number 11 on today’s Update. The track originally entered the Top 40 at Number 16 back in 2013 and has reappeared this year thanks to its use in a TV advert for Lloyds Bank, where it has since reached a new peak of Number 8.

After a show stopping set at Bestival last weekend, British MC Stormzy could be looking at his first Top 40 hit this Friday with WickedSkengMan 4, which debuts at Number 14.

Further down the chart, electronic trio Nero land at 18 with Two Minds, Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams jumps seven places to 38 and Birdy & Rhodes start at 39 with their new duet Let It All Go.
