Justin Bieber may have knocked Adele off the top spot last week but it’s still a close fight between the pair, with just over 3,000 combined sales marking out Bieber’s chart-topping Sorry from Adele’s comeback effort, Hello.

Bieber’s Love Yourself remains at 3, Fleur East’s Sax is at 4 for the third week running, and Bieber’s What Do You Mean enjoys a Number 5 midweek placing in its 13th week on the chart.

Bieber’s three entries in the Top 5 marked a rare feat in the Official Chart history books last week, being the first male artist to achieve the accolade in 34 years, since John Lennon in January 1981.

New entries and high climbers

Following his performance on this weekend’s X Factor results show, former member of The Wanted Nathan Sykes is on track for his highest-charting solo hit yet with Over And Over Again, which enters at Number 6 mid-week.

Further down the chart, there are two new entries from Adele: When We Were Young and Million Years Ago from her new album 25 are at 15 and 32 respectively. Her 2012 James Bond theme Skyfall also re-enters the Top 40 at 39.

Finally, Years And Years’ Eyes Shut leaps 12 places to Number 28, and Walk the Moon rebound 11 spots to 37 with Shut Up & Dance following Reggie ‘n’ Bollie’s rendition of the track on last week’s X Factor.
