Joel Corry's Head And Heart ft. MNEK named UK's biggest dance single of 2020

Joel Corry's Head & Heart ft. MNEK was the UK's biggest dance track of 2020, the Official Charts Company can reveal.

Head & Heart became Joel's first Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart last July, scoring six weeks in pole position. The track finished 2020 with 1.22 million chart sales. 

Joel is the latest recipient of our new Specialist Number 1 Award, which celebrates chart-topping success across our Official genre and specialist charts. 

"Thanks Official Charts for this beauty!" Joel posted on Instagram. "Head & Heart the Number 1 Dance Single of 2020. Congrats @MNEK buzzing we did it together". 

Other recpients of the Specialist Number 1 Award so far include Liam Gallagher for 2020's best-selling vinyl single with All You're Dreaming Of, Darkoo for the UK's top Afrobeats track with Gangsta, and IDLES, whose latest album Ultra Mono was the best-selling album in indepedent record shops last year.

Joel's closest competition on the biggest dance songs of 2020 was himself: Top 5 smash Lonely finishes in second place, while his debut single Sorry - a Top 10 in 2019 - places 14th. 

Meanwhile, producer and DJ Nathan Dawe scored two of the UK's Top 5 dance tracks of 2020 - breakthrough hit Flowers (3) and Lighter ft. KSI (5). Other acts who make multiple appearances on the chart include Regard, Becky Hill, Jax Jones and Meduza.
