Jess Glynne's I Cry When I Laugh storms ahead in Official Albums Chart race

Plus find out where new entries from acts including Bon Jovi, Bars & Melody and Natalie Imbruglia are in the Official Chart Update.

Jess Glynne’s incredible year looks set to continue as her debut album I Cry When I Laugh takes an early lead on this week’s Official Albums Chart.

At the halfway stage of the chart week, combined sales for the the singer-songwriter’s first record are more than double her closest competitor, last week’s leader Cilla Black’s The Very Best Of.

Glynne’s debut LP includes her five Number 1 singles Rather Be (with Clean Bandit), My Love (with Route 94), Hold My Hand, Not Letting Go (with Tinie Tempah), and Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself as well as Top 10s Right Here and Real Love (with Clean Bandit).

The remainder of today’s Official Chart Update Top 5 is made up of new entries; Bon Jovi’s 13th studio album Burning Bridges is at 3, Britain’s Got Talent duo Bars & Melody start at 4 with 143, and Disturbed debut at 5 with their sixth album Immortalized.

New entries

Scottish band The Fratellis enter at Number 11 with their fourth album Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, Irish Rockers The Strypes land at 13 with Little Victories, and Natalie Imbruglia’s Male is at 14.

Meanwhile, Christian folk band Rend Collective could be making their Top 40 debut this week with As Family We Go (15), Swedish metal band Ghost start at 17 Meliora, and London indie band Spector are new at 20 with Moth Boys.

Finally, The Spitfires enter at Number 27 with their debut album Response, and rockers The Bohicas land at 28 with their first collection The Making Of.
