21-year-old George Ezra’s BRIT Award nominated debut Wanted On Voyage has beaten midweek leader Ed Sheeran’s X to Number 1 by a margin of just 400 copies.

Wanted On Voyage - which features Top 10 singles Budapest and Blame It On Me - first topped the chart back in October, 14 weeks after its original release, and was earlier this month confirmed by the Official Charts Company as the third biggest-selling artist album of 2014.

Fellow BRIT nominee Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour is at Number 3 today followed by Taylor Swift’s 1989 (4) and Hozier’s self-titled debut at 5.

New entries

There are six re-entries in today’s Official Albums Chart Top 40. Thanks to a deluxe edition release, Gregory Porter’s Liquid Spirit climbs to Number 13 today, trailed by Carole King’s 1971 breakthrough LP Tapestry (21).

Ed Sheeran’s debut + is at 33, followed by Kodaline’s In A Perfect World (36), which sees a boost after album track All I Want was performed on BBC’s The Voice last weekend.

Jamie T’s third studio album Carry On The Grudge is at 37, while Dutch violinist and conductor Andre Rieu rounds out today’s Top 40 with Love In Venice (40).
