Louis Walsh, Tulisa, Jason Donovan, Myleene Klass, Fazer and Caroline Flack pay tribute to chart legend Gary Barlow at star-studded MITs charity dinner.

Gary Barlow was presented with the 21st annual Music Industry Trusts Award at a glittering charity dinner in central London yesterday evening (Monday, November 5). The annual award ceremony, which not only honours some of the UK’s biggest and best musical talent, it also raises funds and awareness for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, and helps nurture the next generation of British artists through the BRIT School, too.

There were performances from Paloma Faith, Take That, Robbie Williams, and Gary Barlow himself.

Ever modest, the Take That frontman and X Factor judge told OfficialCharts.com:

“The award is one thing, but the real reason why we’re here is for the trusts that this night funds. It’s the BRIT School and the Nordoff Robins centre, if you’re involved in music, you know what they do. This evening is all about fund raising for those places.”

Barlow’s fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh played the greatest complement to his on screen rival telling us:

“I went to see Take That all those years ago in Dublin, then I did Boyzone. So basically I kinda copied what Gary did. I’ve followed his career from day one.”

However, at the end of our chart, Walsh, couldn’t help himself but throw in a cheeky dig. “Gary’s a great guy, he’s a great songwriter… He’s just not a great X Factor judge.”

Tulisa, Jason Donovan, Myleene Klass, Fazer and Caroline Flack also spoke of their admiration for Barlow, and reveal what he's really like!
