Frozen reclaims Official Video Chart top spot

Nearly 1.5 million copies of Walt Disney’s winter epic have been purchased in the UK over the last three weeks.

Frozen has knocked The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug off the top of the Official Video Chart. Disney’s animated epic reclaims the Number 1 spot on the combined DVD and Blu-ray chart after being demoted to second place last weekend by the latest instalment of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy.

Frozen is also back at Number 1 on the Official DVD Chart and the Official Children’s Video Chart this week, while The Desolation Of Smaug retains its lead on the Official Blu-Ray Chart and the Official Film On Video Chart.

According to the Official Charts Company’s sales data, Frozen is the biggest selling video title of 2014 so far, clocking up more than 1.45 million sales in the UK during its first three weeks of release.

Walking With Dinosaurs – The Movie enters at Number 3 on this week’s Official Video Chart, while The Hunger Games – Catching Fire slides one place to Number 4. Moshi Monsters – The Movie (new in at Number 5) completes this week’s Top 5.
