Canadian rapper Drake has just massively upped the stakes in terms of one-day streaming.

Since Drake dropped his fifth LP, Scorpion on Friday June 29, it's fair to say that it has done pretty well - even by the rapper's high standards.

Scorpion was streamed 170 million times on Apple Music worldwide over the weekend, more than doubling the star's one-day streaming record set by 2017 mixtape More Life.

Drake's seismic achievement looks equally impressive on Spotify. In total, the album's individual tracks have been played 132,450,203 times over the weekend, gaining 50,000 on Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys, which previously set the record in June this year.

The album also beat Spotify's global one-day record for streams on the platform.

It's a clean sweep for Drake. Amazon Music Unlimited also revealed the album had more first-day streams than any other album on their service, breaking the record previously held by Justin Timberlake's Man Of The Woods.

Canadian rapper and singer-songwriter Drake has scored four UK number 1 singles so far: What's My Name with Rihanna back in 2010, 15-week number 1 smash One Dance in 2016, God's Plan in January 2018 and Nice For What in April 2018. Look at Drake's complete Official UK Chart history here.
