He's also overtaken Eminem for the third longest reigning No.1 hip-hop album.

The United States' longest reigning Number 1 album from a male artist in early a quarter of a decade has been achieved, and you'll never guess who has done it...

That's right. Drake, the permanent fixture at the top of the UK's Official Singles Chart has secured a ninth consecutive week atop the Billboard 200 albums chart with Views, the longest consecutive run for a male artist in 24 years. Since Views was released, it has never left Number 1 and has fended off new entries from Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Billy Ray Cyrus' 1992 album Some Gave All is the last album by a male artist to stay at Number 1 for nine weeks or more; it in fact managed a consecutive 17 weeks. The last album from any artist to hold at the top spot for nine weeks was Adele's 21, which mustered 10 weeks in 2012.

The feat also means that Views has now overtaken Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP as the hip-hop album with the third longest tenure at Number 1. The two ahead that Drake now has to beat? Vanilla Ice with To The Extreme and Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em by MC Hammer.

Elsewhere on the chart, Beyoncé's Lemonade climbs a spot to Number 2, The Avett Brothers debut at Number 3 with True Sadness, twenty one pilots match their personal best of 4 with Blurryface and Rihanna's Anti jumps two places to Number 5.

i am 41 years old and so glad I do no longer care about charts....just buying what I like....you know, according to review done on yahoo lately...when you are 33-34 years, they say you no longer purchase any album - single from a new singer nor your taste in music changes...you stuck to your previous favourite band- singer!! and yes, the survey was right...I will stuck to CYNDI LAUPER, ROXETTE, TORI AMOS, MEAT LOAF...and just buy their new release...as if this world is coming to listen and love DRAKE....I am damned....people have no TASTE nowadays!!
